Resin Bound Driveways

Resin Bound Driveways Crawley, Brighton & Horsham

A smooth, seamless, permeable surface that's become one of the most requested driveway finishes for newer and renovated homes across Surrey & Sussex.

Why Resin Bound

SUDS-Compliant and Low Maintenance

Resin bound surfacing is naturally permeable, which means it meets SUDS (Sustainable Drainage) requirements without needing separate soakaways in most cases — useful if your existing driveway needs planning-compliant drainage.

Because it's laid as a smooth, jointless surface, there's nowhere for weeds to take hold and no loose stone to scatter, unlike gravel. We only lay resin over a sound, structurally stable base — if your existing surface isn't up to it, we'll say so upfront and quote for the groundwork needed rather than laying resin over something that will crack.

How the Finish Goes Down

The resin-aggregate mix is hand-troweled across the prepared base in a continuous pour, then finished to a smooth, even texture.

Resin Driveway FAQs

Common Questions

Is resin bound the same as resin bonded?

No — resin bound mixes the aggregate through the resin before laying, giving a smooth, permeable, walkable surface. Resin bonded scatters loose stone onto a resin layer, which is less durable and not permeable. We only fit resin bound driveways.

Can resin be laid over my existing driveway?

Sometimes — if your existing concrete or asphalt base is sound and free of major cracking, we can often resurface over it, which saves on excavation cost. We'll assess this on the free site visit.

How long does a resin driveway take to cure?

The surface is typically walkable within 24 hours and ready for vehicles within 48–72 hours, weather dependent.

Does resin bound need planning permission?

Because it's a permeable surface, resin bound driveways generally don't require planning permission under the same rules that apply to non-permeable surfaces — but we'll confirm this for your specific property.
